Michelle earned BA and MA in Fine Arts from Kean University, plus a post-bacc in K-12 Art Education from William Paterson. She’s teaching and entering her 21st year in September. She started as a Summer Fun counselor in 1997, later served as counselor, art director, and site director at various camps, and became Summer Fun director in 2018.

Before working with Summer Fun, she taught a pod of students and helped them with their education through the pandemic, worked in daycare settings as a PreK 4 teacher, and a resource room teacher in New York City Public Schools.

Blaise Barrientos-Knapp earned a BA from the University of Hartford. She left the office world to be with her family and joined VRECS as a lunch aide in 2017. She found a passion for preschool and has worked as a Teacher’s Associate in pre-k4 and Transitional Kindergarten, and has been teaching Pre-K3 since 2021. Blaise loves connecting with children, sharing their view of the world, and fostering kindness, individuality, and curiosity in the classroom.

She earned her BSN with Cum Laude from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2008, and her MSN and DNP from Wilkes University (MSN in 2018, DNP in 2021). She works full-time as a registered nurse at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan and part-time as a nurse practitioner and medical director at Nutritional Infusions in Galloway, NJ. She is a member of the Christian Board of Education at Van Riper Ellis Broadway Baptist Church.
