Curriculum & Activities

Our goal at Summer Fun is to create a blended summer camp and learning experience. We have adopted a summer curriculum that incorporates reading, handwriting and literacy skills as well as mathematics.  Our focus is to help support the knowledge they have learned in their previous year of school.  For the 7-10 year old we participate in the D.E.A.R. program where they have to "Drop Everything and Read" for 20 minutes each day.

All campers will also have opportunities for project-based STEAM lessons, arts and crafts, daily playground time, outdoor and water play, choice time, and bible lessons. We also provide scooters and tricycles for outdoors and we have indoor tricycles as well. Younger campers will have story time, music and movement daily. A large indoor and air-conditioned space is also available for rainy and extremely hot days.

We have weekly assemblies or special events that coincide with our weekly theme. Please check out calendar.

What is STEAM?

STEAM is an educational approach to learning that uses Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics as access points for guiding student inquiry, dialogue, and critical thinking.
The objectives of the STEAM movement is to combine Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math to help drive innovation and develop the creative mind.
The STEAM movement has inspired new school systems, companies and organizations to create new and engaging learning experiences that have captured kids’ interest.
